Question Dear Scholor ASA, I had question that is husband & wife are seperated through evil ways like black magic or with any other evil means.If yes whats are things to avoid this.Whats there concept in Quran.Is evil exist in this world.Also in above problem is anything said in Quran regarding evil & envy. GOD BLESS you.
Answer Wa`alaykum As-Salaamu Warahmatullahi Wabarakatuh.

In The Name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful.

All praise and thanks are due to Allah, and peace and blessings be upon His Messenger.

The Qur’an has made it clear that some people can use magic to separate a husband from his wife and vice versa. Almighty Allah says: “And follow that which the devils falsely related against the kingdom of Solomon. Solomon disbelieved not; but the devils disbelieved, teaching mankind magic and that which was revealed to the two angels in Babel, Harut and Marut. Nor did they (the two angels) teach it to anyone till they had said: We are only a temptation, therefore disbelieve not (in the guidance of Allah). And from these two (angels) people learn that by which they cause division between man and wife; but they injure thereby no one save by Allah's leave. And they learn that which harmeth them and profiteth them not. And surely they do know that he who trafficketh therein will have no (happy) portion in the Hereafter; and surely evil is the price for which they sell their souls, if they but knew.” (Al-Baqarah: 102)

However, we should bear in mind that all this happens by Allah’s Will. No one can harm any human being unless Almighty Allah permits this.

It is should also be born in mind that this magic may lead the person to see things that do not really happen or exist. In this sense, he may see his wife or she sees him in a form or a shape that she abhors and this may cause hatred. The main remedy is to resort to Almighty Allah, reciting the Qur’an especially the Two Protective Surahs (i.e. Surahs No. (113& 114), and Ayat Al-Kursi (i.e. 155).

By and large, a person whose heart is attached to Allah should never feel fear of anybody, for Allah is always with him protecting him in all cases.”

Question As-Salamu `Alaikum, I want to ask you if black magic is haram. For some reason I am having trouble finding a good husband and I'm getting older. Sometimes I think maybe one of my aunties has actually done black magic on me, b.c at one stage in my life she was so jealous of my sister and I b/c her daughter had a bad reputation and she was scared we would get good husbands and no one would marry her daughter. Is it kufr to think like this? Please advise me!
Answer Wa `alaykum As-Salamu wa Rahmatullahi wa Barakatuh.
In the Name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful.

All praise and thanks are due to Allah, and peace and blessings be upon His Messenger.

Dear sister, thanks for your question.

In fact, back magic is very evil and it is haram to be practiced. However, when a Muslim faces a problem, he should not always think it is due to black magic.

Sister, our advice to you is to, first of all, free you mind of all your worries and focus on bringing yourself closer to Allah. Try to read Qur'an, perform daily Prayers, and do as much as you can of good deeds.

Sister, protect yourself against evils, magic, and envy by means of reading some prophetic du`aa's and Qur'anic verses. Read, for example, the last three chapters of the Qur'an every morning and every night.

As for the issue of marriage, we do advise you to:

1. Resort to Allah asking Him to grant you a good husband;
2. Involve yourself in the beneficial activities of the community;
3. You may seek the help of Muslim sisters in the community and the Imam of the mosque;
4. Encircle yourself with good Muslim sisters;
5. Never lose hope in Allah's help, care and assistance.

Allah Almighty knows best.

Question If a Muslim who is believing in Allah is affected by black magic, what can we do for him as he is becoming very sick and looks like he will pass away. Is there any special du`a'?
Answer In the Name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful.
All praise and thanks are due to Allah, and peace and blessings be upon His Messenger.

First of all, we'd like to state that black magic is an undeniable fact, yet this does not mean when we face any problem we think that it should necessarily be a black magic.

Generally speaking, it should be demonstrated that black magic is one of the well-established facts, and it is mentioned in the Qur’an and the Sunnah.

If you know a certain person who is affected by black magic, then you can help him dispel this magic by making use of the following tips:

1. you can help him have good faith and to frequently accompany him to the Mosque.

2. you can provide him with some good tapes, CDs, etc that can help in dispelling magic and enhancing his faith.

3. you can help him find a good pious person who exorcise him.

4. you should advise him to keep patience and to have firm belief in Allah.

5. you can advise him to read surat Al-Baqarah, Al-Mu`awwidhatayn or the Two Protective Surahs, i.e. Al-Falaq and An-Nas) and to try his best to be in a state of wudu' as much as he can.

6. last but not least, you should never forget to make du`a' (supplication) asking Allah to help him get rid of magic and to protect him and you and us all against all evils.

Question I came across a person who calls himself a scholar. He reads surat Al-Baqarah ardently though very rarely reads prayer in its stipulated time but talks of reading namaz at night long talks of having three believing jinn and whosoever comes to him with a problem asks him to sit on a coconut. If the coconut rotates with the man sitting on it on its own then he picks up the coconut reads from it that which we cant see and may diagnose that person as suffering from black magic. He then takes out the ta`wiz or whatsoever material was affecting the person in the vomit by asking them to eat lots of roses with water a hen or a goat is then asked depending on the severity of the affliction and this may cost 3000 to 6000 Rupees. He also when there is nothing in his hands gets sweets or cloves out of thin air. I have seen all this but my rationality does not allow. Could please explain the issue further for me?
Answer In the Name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful.

All praise and thanks are due to Allah, and peace and blessings be upon His Messenger.

For what you have mentioned I could say that this is simply an act of magic, which is completely forbidden in Islam. The proper way of doing it is reciting the specific verses from Qur’an assigned for this purpose and the authentic du’a’ or supplications reported from the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him).

Question I would like to know what one should do if they think someone is practicing black magic on their family in order to get someone to marry them. The parents of the son have acted out of character by not asking the consent of their son, and there is also the appearance of mischievous Jinn in the family home.

Should one follow the will of the person practicing black magic out of fear that either they or their loved ones could get seriously hurt or should one go against the will of those practicing black magic and marry someone else and risk the consequences?
Answer Wa`alykum As-Salaamu wa Rahmatullahi wa Barakaatuh.

In the Name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful.

"If you are sure about the black magic, so the first step you should take is to recite some Qur'anic verses to neutralize the effect of black magic. Then, you are to take your own decision and not to be embarrassed by black magic because nothing will happen to you except what Allah the Almighty has planned for you."

Question Dear Respected Scholars, how are you all?

Mr. B had been quiet, anti-social and reserved since he was 5 years old. It was only 25 years later that it was discovered that he had been possessed by multiple Jinnis, both through black magic and other unwanted jinnis. During these 25 years, his ability to perform obligatory Salah and fasting was very much affected.

Alhamdulillah he has recovered and is very well now. Should he make up for his missed Salah and fasting all these years? If yes, how should he do so?

Thank you for your time, effort and attention in replying my queries.

Allaahumma salli alaa Saiyidina Muhammad wa ala aalihee wasahbihee ajma’een. May Allah s.w.t forgive, bless, guide, protect and reward all Muslims.

Wassalaam.

Dear sister in Islam, thanks a lot for your question and for your kind greeting.

Regarding your question, it should be clear that a Muslim should strive not to fall prey to Satanic whisperings or magic. Striving against Satan’s temptation and whispering is a form of Jihad, that every Muslim should carry out.

As for Prayer, it is known as the cornerstone of religion. In this context, the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said, “Prayer is the cornerstone of religion…” Prayer stands as the second pillar of Islam after testifying that there is no god but Allah and Muhammad is His final Messenger. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said, “Islam is built upon five pillars: testifying that there is no true god except Allah and that Muhammad is the Messenger of Allah, performing Prayer, paying the Zakah, making the pilgrimage to the Sacred House (Hajj), and fasting the month of Ramadan.” (Reported by Al-Bukhari)

In Islam, takleef (religious accountability) depends on maturity and sound mind. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) stated that three people are not accountable for their actions: 1) the child until he becomes mature, 2) the insane until he be of sound mind, and 3) the sleeping person until he gets up.

Accordingly, scholars of Islam state that being sane and mature are conditions for accountability. There are some reasons that could suspend the person's accountability such as forgetfulness and compulsion. Then, a sane and mature Muslim should carry out his duties – such as Prayer and Fasting - as long as there is nothing that hinders him from doing so. Fasting and Prayers are two pillars of Islam.

Given the above, we do advise this brother to make up for what he missed of Prayers and Fasts from the time he reached maturity, as long as he was sane, hoping that Allah will protect him against Satan and accept his repentance.

As for Prayers that he missed, he should make up for them with the due ones. He can pray each prayer twice: one for the current Prayer and the other for making up for the missed one.

As for what he has missed of days of fasting, he should make up for them. He can fast Mondays, Thursdays, and the white days—13, 14, and 15 of every lunar month—with the intention of making up for what he missed of days of Fasting.

This person should continue in doing so until he becomes pretty sure that he has made up for missed Prayers and Fasts.

Finally, it should be borne in mind that such a person will be greatly rewarded by Allah for his patience, forbearance, and perseverance in the straight path of Islam.

Allah Almighty knows best.

Question As-Salamu `Alaykum. This question is from my wife's best friend and she is in great doubt in terms of the validity of her marriage. She was married to some one in Egypt and his family is not happy with this marriage. She is claiming that there is some sort of magic that has been done to him in order to separate them. The other day after he left his home for work, she received a divorce paper signed by him. At night, when he comes back he deny that he has done this and explain that he never felt while he is doing this. However, he has done this for three times and his reaction is the same. Now, she is in Melbourne and wants to avoid any relationship with him till she gets clarification from the Sheikh. Could you please answer us as soon as possible and may Allah reward you for your deeds. Thank you.
Answer Wa`alaykum As-Salaamu Warahmatullahi Wabarakatuh.

In The Name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful.

“If this man is really under the influence of black magic to the extent that he does a thing and does not know if he did it as if he is completely has no will and is not mindful or conscious of what he is doing, then comes another question is the divorce paper an official one or just a paper he has written with his hand?

If it is just non-official paper written by him and he testifies that he has never written this and he never felt anything of this kind, then the divorce is not applicable.

This is Malik is of the view that the person in duress is not responsible for his deeds. The case of a person obsessed to that extent is much worse than that of one in duress.

We advise him to continually recite the Qur’an, particularly, Ayat al-Kursi, the last verses of Surat, al-Baqarah and the Mu`awidhatayn in addition to all other supplications which are said for protection.

But if he has made an official divorce, then he will be in a big problem as he has divorced his wife three times in the eyes of the Law case.”
